As part of the drafting of opinions by the Advisory Committee on Bioethics of Belgium, artificial intelligence (AI) is never used to conduct or guide ethical reflections, nor to write the final text of the issued opinions. These are exclusively the result of in-depth discussions, hearings, and deliberations among the Committee members, gathered in restricted commissions and plenary sessions. Ethical reasoning, its foundations, and its conclusions are entirely based on human expertise. This is a fundamental principle to which the Committee does not deviate.

The use of AI is carried out under the supervision of the Committee members and in accordance with internal guidelines governing the use of AI. In any case, full responsibility for the content of the opinions, their coherence, and their ethical validity lies with the Committee members, who alone are authorized to approve them.
